While gardening, it is a unique and satisfying feeling when you feel the moist and warm dirt on your hands, but blisters, scraping and chapping is also not too far away. A straightforward and simple solution is to get a pair of gardening gloves, especially if you plan to devote a good part of time to gardening. Thus gardening gloves would make it easier and safer for your hands thus letting you truly enjoy gardening.

A very large variety of gloves are present in market and so the type you choose will largely depend on your way of gardening. Different gloves may offer different kinds of protection, an example in this case are leather gloves which are rather unsuited while s working with water or chemicals. Gardening gloves specialized for the pruning of thorns, using chain saw or refilling a gasoline tank are available. Other types, meant especially for raking weeding and digging are also present in the market.

One you choose the sort of the glove that you may want, you may also want to make sure that the gloves are a good fit in your hands. Big gloves tend to slip off the hand while smaller ones could cramp your hands even leading to pain and blistering. In order to be sure about this, before purchasing the gloves, try them out on both the hands first and make a fist while imitating gardening movements. If the glove is a perfect fit then it should feel comfortable with no slipping or pinching.

Gardening gloves are available in a range of quality and prices and are manufactured and sold by several companies. Most of the gloves are washable using cool water and can be air dried after that.

Different glove types are available for your purchase so as to satisfy the customer’s varying needs. For general purpose, those made of cotton or cotton polyester may be used. These have been found to be the most popular and are said to be perfect for lighter chores both in dry and cool season. For general purpose, leather gloves are good enough but these are heavier than the cotton and the polyester ones. Using gloves that are chemical resistant will protect the hands against acids, oils, pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals. Extra rubber dots are provided on some gloves for enhancing the grip of the glove. Protection from sharp edges can be obtained by using gloves that are puncture resistant.
