Advantages of Container Gardening Method
Having problems with lack of space for growing own vegetables and fruits? Is your soil or/and climate inappropriate for crop cultivation? If the answer is yes that does not mean you cannot grow your own fruits and vegetables. There are several methods how to grow your favorite fruits and vegetables even if living in an apartment or if soil quality and climate in your particular area do not provide optimal conditions for plant growth. Container gardening is one of the most popular “alternative” gardening methods and is worth to consider for several reasons.
Container gardening is a method of growing plants exclusively in containers or pots and is suitable for both indoors and outdoors. Virtually all plants including small trees can be successfully grown in containers.

Growing vegetables and fruits in containers commonly requires more watering but there are several “friendly” irrigation systems such as sub-irrigated planters available on the market as well. Container gardening virtually eliminates the weed problems and soil-born diseases, while the mobility of the containers also enables better control over sunlight and temperature. However, most plants need to be repotted every now and then especially the perennial plants.
If deciding for container gardening you should choose a container of proper size but the quality of soil you put in the containers is highly important as well. You should also keep in mind that different plants require different conditions for optimal growth. If planning to grow a larger amount of different vegetables and fruits it might be very helpful to put a plant label in each pot.
